Ever wonder what those tiny symbols on your phone really mean? We’re here to break them down so you always know what’s going on with your device.
Why do we have them?
Sometimes new symbols pop up on your phone, while others seem to always be there. Either way, they’re all there to keep you in the loop about what your phone is doing and what’s available to you.
The Status Icons.

-Network and connectivity: The signal strength bars will show in the top right-hand corner of your device; this shows the strength of your Wi-Fi signal.
-The Wi-Fi icon indicates you are connected to the Wi-Fi.
-The Bluetooth icon shows if Bluetooth is enabled and if it is connected to a device.
-The Aeroplane Mode icon tells you if aeroplane mode is enabled and on.
-The Roaming Icon tells you if your phone is connected to a different mobile network.
Battery and Power.
-The Battery icon shows the battery levels/ percentage.
-The charging icon shows the phone is charging.
-The Low Power Mode icon shows low power mode is activated and prolonging the battery from dying.
-The Temperature icon is available on some phones and this just shows your phone has overheated and is currently cooling down. This can be seen on some Samsung phones.
Other symbols.

-Alarm icon indicates that an alarm has been set.
-Location services icon shows that location services are enabled and being used by an app.
-The headphone icon indicates that Bluetooth is turned on and connected.
-Microphone and/or camera icons more specifically with IOS, means the microphone is being used.
-Exclamation mark inside a triangle says that safe mode is enabled.
-Curved arrows would indicate media being shared with other devices.
